We are looking for an experienced Data Contracts Specialist to join our client's team and take responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining Data Contracts within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of data governance standards, ensure data quality and consistency, and implement automated mechanisms for validating Data Contracts.

You will work closely with Data Engineering, BI, Product teams, and Data Owners, translating business and technical requirements into effective Data Contract solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement, deploy, and maintain Data Contracts in GCP in accordance with established architecture, specifications, and standards
• Define and update data schemas and validation rules to meet data quality requirements
• Develop and enhance automated mechanisms for schema validation and ensuring data compliance with defined contracts
• Support the integration of data validation processes into CI/CD pipelines
• Write advanced SQL queries for data analysis, quality verification, and identifying inconsistencies
• Analyze, process, and model data within Data Warehouse and Big Data environments
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Product teams, and Data Owners to define Data Contracts and resolve data quality and consistency issues
• Contribute to the selection of tools supporting Data Contract automation and the continuous improvement of processes for creating, updating, and maintaining contracts

Requirements - Must Have

• Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Solid understanding of Data Contracts, including contract definitions, data schemas, and data quality requirements
• Experience with tools and technologies supporting Data Contract automation, such as OpenAPI, JSON Schema, CI/CD tools, or data quality validation solutions
• Practical experience in data analysis, processing, and modeling
• Good understanding of Data Warehouse and Big Data architectures
• Advanced SQL skills, supported by professional experience
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher

Requirements - Nice to Have

• Experience in Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Analytics, or related fields
• Experience independently designing and implementing solutions involving multiple teams and business areas
• Hands-on experience in data model design and building data layers
• Experience in ensuring data quality, including testing, monitoring, and alert configuration
• Familiarity with the Open Data Contract Standard (ODCS)
• Strong knowledge of the GCP ecosystem and its data processing and management services

• Experience with data management and transformation tools, such as:

  dbt, Dataform, Knowledge Catalog (formerly Dataplex), Data Catalog
• Good understanding of Data Governance and Data Quality principles and best practices
• Experience preparing technical documentation and conducting code reviews
• Ability to independently manage cross-functional initiatives, identify dependencies, resolve blockers, and drive decision-making
• Ability to work with incomplete or evolving requirements and independently develop effective solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with business, technical, and analytical teams.
