Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a long-term project for a U.S.-based education services provider supporting online and campus-based post-secondary education programs. The client works with learning management systems, student enrollment platforms, and academic operations across web and mobile solutions.

This is a 12-month full-time remote contract opportunity for a specialist who has strong hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines, data models, and modern cloud data solutions.

Project Details

• Contract duration: 12 months
• Work model: Full-time, fully remote
• Equipment: Own computer required
• Time zone requirement: Minimum 4 hours overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using: Snowflake, Coalesce.io, Airbyte, SQL Server / SSIS, Azure Data Factory
• Build and optimize dimensional data models for analytics and reporting.
• Implement and maintain Medallion Architecture in Snowflake (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
• Develop reliable ETL/ELT processes and data transformation workflows.
• Improve data modeling standards and identify areas for optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams using Jira and GitHub.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across analytics solutions.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with: Snowflake, dbt (required), Coalesce.io, Airbyte, SQL Server / SSIS, Azure Data Factory
• Strong understanding of: Medallion Architecture, Dimensional Data Modeling, ETL/ELT concepts and best practices
• Experience building production-grade data pipelines and analytics solutions.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jira-based development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to work with at least 4 hours overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI.
• Experience integrating Salesforce data.
• Previous experience in higher education or ed-tech environments.
