We are partnering with a leading European provider of e-tendering and procurement platforms, trusted by public sector organizations and government institutions across Europe. Their solutions play a key role in digital transformation and transparent public procurement processes on an international scale. To support the continued growth of their cloud-based platforms, we are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer (AWS / Kafka) who will join a highly skilled engineering team working on scalable, distributed systems built with modern technologies and cloud-native architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Development of backend services using Java in line with modern engineering standards and best practices
- Integration of heterogeneous data sources (external systems and internal services) into unified data models
- Design and implementation of data processing services, including support for manual data input workflows
- Automation of existing manual and semi-manual business processes
- Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to translate designs and prototypes into production-ready solutions
- Analysis and resolution of complex technical issues across distributed systems
- Participation in technical decision-making regarding priorities, risks, and architectural direction
- Maintenance of up-to-date technical documentation, processes, and system specifications
- Involvement across the full SDLC: design, development, deployment, and production support
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Java development (latest Java versions preferred)
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven architecture, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- Solid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience implementing non-functional requirements: security, performance, scalability, resilience
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Practical experience with messaging systems (Kafka or similar)
- Strong experience in AWS cloud services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway)
