Senior Platform Engineer (AWS)

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join a team responsible for building and operating critical payment, subscription, and entitlement platforms at scale. This role combines platform engineering, backend development, cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and full-stack capabilities.

You will work closely with engineering, product, finance, and operations teams to deliver highly reliable systems, scalable data platforms, and internal tools that support business-critical processes across mobile ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services supporting payments, subscriptions, and entitlement management across iOS and Android platforms
• Own and maintain Airflow-based data pipelines that move data from operational systems into Snowflake.
• Design and optimize data models in Snowflake to support finance reconciliation, product analytics, and machine learning initiatives
• Collaborate with analytics engineers on data transformation layers using dbt or similar technologies.
• Develop internal tools and applications using React and TypeScript to enable self-service workflows for Finance, Operations, and Customer Support teams
• Architect, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Drive observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across platform services
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting critical payment and subscription systems
• Lead technical discussions, conduct design reviews, and mentor other engineers
• Work directly with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions

Requirements

• 6 years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production systems
• Strong experience designing, building, and operating backend services in production environments
• Deep hands-on expertise with AWS services and cloud-native architectures
• Proven experience building and managing data pipelines using Apache Airflow
• Solid knowledge of Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimization, security, and cost management
• Ability to work across the full stack, delivering both backend services and frontend applications when required
• Strong understanding of:

  • Monitoring and observability

Nice to have

• Experience with payments, billing, subscriptions, or financial systems
• Familiarity with Chargebee and Apple App Store / Google Play in-app purchase ecosystems
• Experience with dbt, Kafka, Kinesis, and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes in production environments
• Background in gaming, fintech, or other high-volume consumer-facing businesses
