Position: Senior Software Engineer (Scala & Python)
Location: Poland, remote
Salary: 150-180 pln net/hour
Start: Immediately
Contract: 6 months with possibility to extension

For our client we are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Scala & Python) to join an existing engineering team responsible for developing backend services and expanding AI-powered capabilities across a SaaS platform.

In this role, you will work on building and improving scalable backend solutions, maintaining existing Scala-based services, and developing new features using Python. You will also contribute to integrating AI models and external AI services into production systems.

Both Scala and Python are key technologies for this position. Scala is essential for maintaining and extending the existing platform, while Python will be heavily used in day-to-day development, especially around AI integrations and new capabilities.

Your responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve robust backend services using Scala and Python
• Design and implement AI-powered features across the platform
• Integrate internal and external AI services through APIs, including LLMs and other AI platforms
• Build reliable production-ready solutions around AI model integrations
• Contribute to backend architecture improvements and technical decisions
• Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions
• Follow software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Scala in production environments
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Senior-level experience in backend software development
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices:
  • automated testing
  • version control
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Agile development methodologies
• Experience designing and developing scalable backend systems

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Experience integrating AI models or AI-based services into production systems
• Experience with AI transcription solutions or similar AI technologies
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch
• Experience working with AI service APIs
• Previous experience with PHP development
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
